Description

Do you remember when you were a child? Do you remember how your life was worry-free and how the entire world seemed beautiful and amazing? The scientists have discovered that until the age of 7 children spend most of their time in Alpha and Theta brainwave cycles, like a person in the state of hypnosis or meditation. Then, as we grow older, the alpha activity of our brain decreases, we begin to perceive our world more logically, more critically. From ages 8 to 12 and onwards, brain activity increases to anything above 13 cycles per second. This is the world of conscious, analytical thinking. The mind is awake, focused and alert and is capable of logical thinking. Adults spend most of their time in this cycle. However, as our brainwave cycles shift to Beta rhythms stress and tension enter our life. Our consciousness "misses" that easy, unconstrained state we experienced when we were children and we subconsciously want to go back to this happy state. Why?

Because 99% of adults have low Alpha brainwave activity.

Your stress and worries drift away when you enter the Alpha state. Tension and nervousness disappear as your brain’s thought process calm down; your mind becomes clearer. Everybody likes that. Since Alpha waves are linked with relaxed mental states, many experts believe increasing alpha activity may help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as help you stay relaxed. Scientists have also provided evidence that enhancing alpha waves may boost creativity by an average of 7.4%.

To induce the Alpha state people often resort to alcohol, because alcohol increases Alpha brainwave activity. It is, however, a very deceptive method, people who use alcohol to stimulate alpha activity later experience its sharp decline: a person becomes angry, irritable and the world often begins to appear in dark colors. Alcohol is NOT the best way to boost Alpha activity.

Can Alpha activity be artificially stimulated with special audio brainwave entrainment programs?

Such experiments have been performed many times over and each time the scientists were amazed by the results: after an alpha brainwave stimulation session, the EEG of a fifty-year-old person did not differ much from the EEG of a 25-year-old. Memory improved, as well as cognitive abilities. A group of scientists from Italy concluded: alpha brainwave stimulation increases heart rate variability, which means it can improve health and even extend life.

The article, "Alpha-rhythm stimulation using brain entrainment enhances heart rate variability in subjects with reduced HRV," published in The World Journal of Neuroscience, can be found here.
Heart rate variability (HRV) is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between heartbeats. It is measured by the variation in the beat-to-beat interval.

Heart rate variability, the change in the time intervals between adjacent heartbeats, is an emergent property of interdependent regulatory systems that operates on different time scales to adapt to environmental and psychological challenges. Consequently, heart rate variability (HRV) reflects how our cardiovascular system works. Reduced HRV may correlate with disease and mortality because it reflects reduced regulatory capacity and ability to adaptively respond to physiological challenges.

The "Alpha-Stimulation" program is based on these studies. Its stimulates Alpha activity by using neuroacoustic brainwave entrainment mechanisms. Unlike other Alpha meditations you may find elsewhere, this program uses fluctuating Alpha-rhythm, which makes it easier for the mind to “attune to”. This program has been tested many times over: a group of volunteers was invited to use this meditation program; an electroencephalogram was taken as they listened.

All participants without exception, showed an increase in Alpha brainwave activity.

"Alpha-Stimulation" has special features.

The program has some specifics. If you'll observe the following guidelines, you can feel the program results after your very first session.

  • Begin the program on an empty stomach or two hours before or after a meal.
  • When working with this program, recall pictures from your childhood where you were carefree and happy. While listening, try to focus on your positive childhood memories.
  • The use of the program will be most beneficial during the active planetary hours. To ensure the best results, you may listen to it during the first day planetary hour and the second night planetary hour of your location. The first day planetary hour is the early morning time. For help, you can use the Advanced Mind Institute planetary hour calculator.
  • Headphones must be used. The program will not work without headphones.
  • It's important to be well hydrated as you listen to the program. So, we recommend that you drink a glass of clear water (but no other type of liquid) shortly before the meditation.
  • Avoid any interruption as you work with the program. It could be a good idea to turn off your cell phone and any type of audible or vibratory reminder.
  • It's important to listen to the program at a modest (medium) volume. Playback at high volume will diminish the program's effectiveness. It's a good idea to listen to a short meditation fragment so that you can set the ideal volume before the start of your meditation.
  • Never work with a program while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants.
  • If you happen to fall asleep while listening to the program, don't worry. Simply deactivate the auto-repeat function on your player before the start of the session.
  • You can work with the program six days a week. Moreover, "Alpha-Stimulation" can be combined with other Advanced Mind Institute programs as long as you take a two- to four-hour break between them.
  • Be sure you're listening to the original program that you have downloaded from the Advanced Mind Institute website. We assume no responsibility for any third-party program.

How does one meditate?

Assume any position that is comfortable for you; one in which your joints and muscles aren't stressed or tensed. Such a position should be one you can maintain for a reasonable amount of time. Close your eyes, and cease your internal chatter. Within a few minutes--usually fewer than ten--your mind and body will relax. It's a pleasant sensation; an experience you will learn to recognize and seek.

Drink a refreshing glass of cool (but not cold) water shortly before your meditation.
